Still carrying what happened, long after it's over?

What happened to you matters. It doesn't have to define the rest of your life. Trauma counselling at our Engadine practice, or online, gives you a safe place to understand how your experiences are still affecting you, and to slowly feel at home in yourself again. You set the pace. You never have to share more than you're ready to.

Feeling like the past keeps showing up in the present?

Trauma isn't only about what happened. It's about what it left behind. You might notice:

  • You're always on edge, waiting for something to go wrong

  • You feel numb, flat or far away from your own life

  • Small moments bring up big reactions, and afterwards you don't understand why

  • It's hard to trust people, or to trust yourself

  • You keep busy so you don't have to feel

If this sounds familiar, please hear this: there is nothing wrong with you. These are the ways your mind and body learned to protect you. They made sense at the time. With the right support, they don't have to run your life anymore.

Wondering if what you went through "counts"?

Trauma looks and feels different for everyone. There's no right way to react, no timeline for when you "should" be over it, and no measure your experience has to meet before you can ask for help. If something you've been through is still affecting you, that's reason enough to reach out.

People come to us after childhood hurt, relationship breakdown, loss, accidents, illness, and experiences they've never said out loud. Whatever your story, you'll be believed, and you'll be safe here.

Afraid of having to relive it all? You won't.

Healing from trauma begins with feeling safe. So we start there, helping you feel steadier in the here and now. Then, gently and only when you're ready, we make sense of what's underneath.

Our trauma work is grounded in a deep understanding of how trauma shapes the brain, body and nervous system. Our Practice Principal, Sammy, trained directly with Dr Bessel van der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score, and continues to study the latest research in trauma recovery.

Over time, many people find they react less, rest more, trust themselves again, and feel more connected to the people and life around them.

Unsure what your first session will be like?

Your first session is simply a chance to get to know each other. You don't need to go into detail about what happened.

All our practitioners work with clients for a minimum of six sessions, because we believe change happens over time, in spaces that feel predictable and consistent.
