Meet The Team.
A team connected by compassion, emotional safety and genuine human care. Thoughtfully supporting children, adults and families through life’s hardest seasons.
My Story
As a Trauma, Grief, and Anxiety Counsellor and Integrative Mindfulness Practitioner, I am deeply passionate about guiding individuals, children, teens, and families on their journey toward healing, wellbeing, and reclaiming their Still Space within.
I don’t just understand trauma and grief professionally, I have lived it. As a sexual abuse survivor, I know the deep, lasting impact trauma can have on the mind, body, and soul. I have faced the near loss of my firstborn, an experience that shook me to my core, and endured the sudden and unexpected death of my father. I have also walked alongside my mother and sister through their courageous battles with cancer, witnessing both their strength and the heartbreaking toll of illness. These experiences have shaped who I am and deepened my commitment to supporting others in their most difficult moments.
Being a wife and a mum of two, I understand that life is far from smooth sailing. My journey has taught me that while we cannot always control what happens to us, we do have the power to shape who we become, through awareness, self-compassion, and the deep honouring of our inner world. My purpose is to hold space for others as they navigate their own pain, helping them transform their wounds into wisdom and find light beyond the darkness.

In addition, I am an accredited, insured, and Diploma-level trained Meditation and Mindfulness Practitioner, holding professional membership with the Meditation Association of Australia. values/approach
With an approach that is integrative and considers the whole self, I combine a variety of evidence-based techniques and mindfulness therapies to create unique roadmaps for healing, opening the door to your mental wellness with empowerment and fulfilment. Starting important conversations early and getting to the root of intergenerational trauma provides you with the very best future despite the fabric of your past.
I am especially dedicated to the mental wellbeing of children, teens and families, creating trustworthy environments where individuals, couples and groups can safely explore both individual emotions and interpersonal relationships. My philosophy is never to settle, but rather to embrace trauma and hardship as an opportunity to unlock potential and cultivate sustainable change. This will allow you to create your best life, no matter the challenges that come your way.
Your Still Space has been there all along - I am just here to help you reconnect.
Mira, Telehealth Counsellor
My Story
I am a Counsellor and Meditation and Mindfulness Facilitator, with a deep passion for supporting people through emotional challenges, grief, loss, anxiety, chronic illness and periods of personal change. My work is guided by compassion, presence and the belief that meaningful support begins with feeling truly heard and emotionally comfortable.
My curiosity and interest in emotional and mental wellbeing developed early in life following the loss of my much loved and revered grandmother during childhood. At this time, emotional support was not readily available, and this experience has shaped my understanding of how deeply people can benefit from kindness, empathy and safe spaces during difficult times. I am a wife, mother and carer for elderly parents, always eager to understand and keep exploring intergenerational relationships and multiple nuances of behaviours and perspectives.
Professionally, I have supported individuals and carers within a not-for-profit cancer organisation, where I witnessed both the vulnerability and resilience that can emerge during illness, uncertainty and loss. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to offer gentle, supportive and evidence-based therapeutic care that may help people to feel less alone and more connected to themselves and others.
WHY WORK WITH MIRA
My Counselling manner is warm, collaborative and person-centred, supporting clients to explore their experiences in a way that feels respectful, steady and emotionally supportive. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, grief, personal loss, emotional overwhelm, burnout, chronic illness and life transitions, drawing from principles of mindfulness, trauma-informed and compassion-focused approaches.
Alongside counselling, I have experience facilitating mindfulness and meditation practices in both individual and group settings. I value the role mindfulness can play in self-awareness, grounding and helping individuals reconnect with their mind and body to harness a sense of calm during stressful periods. My therapeutic work is inspired and influenced by the profound knowledge and approaches of several mindfulness and grief experts including Jon Kabat-Zinn, David Kessler, Deepak Chopra and Tara Brach.
I have completed Diploma training in Psychology, extensive training in grief, loss and trauma counselling and hold memberships with Meditation Australia and Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness and remain committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice.
VALUES / APPROACH
Having travelled extensively and lived in Kenya and parts of Europe, while remaining closely connected to my Indian heritage, I bring cultural sensitivity, openness and an appreciation for diverse lived experiences into my therapeutic work. I value creating inclusive and respectful spaces where individuals from all backgrounds can feel seen, heard and understood.
My approach is holistic and integrative, recognising the connection between emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, the nervous system and our lived experiences. I believe healing is not about ‘fixing’ or ‘having it all together’, but rather about learning to respond to ourselves with greater gentleness and understanding, especially during difficult periods of life. I hope to provide a calm and supportive space where individuals feel emotionally safe, connected to their inner resilience and moving at their own pace while exploring challenges.
Melissa, Child and Youth Counsellor
My Story
From an early age, I had an awareness of the life shaping impacts of grief, trauma and health on each member of the family unit. It was clear to me that each person experiences and processes grief, trauma, diagnosis, understanding, coping and acceptance uniquely, therefore, it is important to approach each healing journey uniquely too.
My journey into therapeutic care began after completing a Diploma in Youth Work and then graduating from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Health Science. I commenced my career in Rehabilitation Counselling, where I developed a deep passion for supporting children and adults living with social, emotional, physical, vocational, developmental and intellectual disabilities/challenges both congenital and acquired.
As an accredited member of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors, I came to understand the importance of meeting each person as a whole human being, not simply a diagnosis, challenge or a treatment plan. This foundation shaped the way I work today: with compassion, curiosity, patience and a genuine belief in every person’s capacity for growth.
After a Behavioural Optometry appointment for my children introduced me to the concept of Vision Therapy, I was inspired by the process and the potential it offered to support learning, development, confidence and everyday functioning. In 2017 I received accreditation from the Australian College of Behavioural Optometrists, becoming an Accredited Vision Therapist.
Since then, my interest in healing and nervous system support has continued to grow. I have expanded my Vision Therapy knowledge through further training in visual dysfunctions and syntonics, and in 2020 broadened my focus into the auditory and sensory systems. I became certified in the Focus System and qualified as a practitioner of the Safe and Sound Protocol, a gentle, non-invasive application of Polyvagal Theory that supports people to regulate their nervous system more consistently and independently.
WHY WORK WITH MIRA
I bring together experience across rehabilitation in all its modalities, disability, vision, learning difficulties, trauma, mental health, sensory processing, neurodiversity awareness, relationship challenges and experience, burnout & overwhelm strategies, identity and self - worth aware. This unique blend allows me to support children, adults and families with a gentle, practical and whole-person approach.
I am especially passionate about helping people who may be navigating new diagnosis in neurodiversity, developmental challenges, emotional overwhelm, sensory sensitivities, cognitive or communication difficulties, trauma responses or nervous system dysregulation. My work is grounded in the belief that healing and progress happen best when people feel safe, understood and supported at their own pace.
With a warm and upbeat nature, I aim to make therapy feel engaging, empowering and achievable. Whether I am working with a child building confidence through therapy, or an adult seeking greater regulation and ease, I bring patience, encouragement and care to every step of the journey.
VALUES / APPROACH
My approach is gentle, relational and deeply respectful of each person’s individual story. I believe that meaningful change happens when we look beyond symptoms and consider the whole self: the whole body, lived experience, past and current environmental factors.
I work with children and adults in a way that is supportive, practical and collaborative. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe to learn, explore, practise and grow, while families feel informed and supported throughout the process.
As a busy mum of four, I also understand the realities of family life and the importance of care that feels compassionate, realistic and grounded. Outside of my professional work, I love cooking and baking, entertaining, travel, reading and continuing my own journey towards self-improvement, peace and gratitude.
At the heart of my work is the belief that every person deserves to feel more connected, capable and comfortable within themselves. I am here to gently support that process, one step at a time.
